Installation Performance:

Voice, Multimedia

Nathan has been intensely inspired by the work of Bill Viola— frequenting his exhibitions in San Francisco and Chicago, and carrying around his collection of writings Reasons for Knocking at an Empty House like a bible for some years. Under this influence, he conceived of an interactive installation performance based on Mr. Viola's Slowly Turning Narrative, as a subtle social ritual. It was performed in The Hague (private event) in 2001, Amsterdam in 2002 (De IJsbreker) and 2004 (Kunstvlaai Festival), and Berlin (Ausland) in 2006, in collaboration with video artist Mendel Hardeman and sound artist Roddy Schrock.
